UPSC invites applications for recruitment in Special Class Railway Apprentices (SCRA) in Mechanical Department of Indian Railways. An examination will be held by the Union Public Service Commission on 19th December, 2010 for selection of candidates. Last date for receipt of applications is 27th Sep 2010. There are 44 vacancies, approximately. Candidates can apply online.

UPSC SCRA exam is of Objective type and there is negative marking for each wrong answer. Age limit is 17-21 Years. UPSC Application fee is Rs. 50 through a single Central Recruitment Fee Stamp (CRFS). CRFS can be obtained from any post office. All women candidates/SC/ST/ physically handicapped persons are not required to pay any fee.

Candidates, who are applying Online, are required to give a fee of Rs. 25 either by the Branch of SBI by Cash, or by using online banking facility of SBI or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.
