Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) is an open university and was established in 1997 for distance education. The University is the 58th largest university in the world. It was established to commemorate the birth centenary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. In the year 2006, Netaji Subhas Open University has given Excellence in Distance Education Award (EDEA) by Commonwealth of Learning (COL) for institutional excellence.
