Panjab University is one of the oldest universities in nation. Its campus is spread over an area of 550 acres in Chandigarh. It has 58 teaching and research departments. The University has 172 affiliated colleges in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, Regional Centers at Muktsar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, and Swami Sarvanand Giri Panjab University Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur.
